Bernard Asare, a Polish-Ghanaian-American (you can only imagine how that happened) is a freelance photographer with a unique perspective on the world. Passionate about global cultures and people, Bernard can be found behind his camera in obscure parts of the world and neighbourhoods right around the corner.

His subjects have included Kente weaving in Bonwire, glass bead production in Kwabenia, Ghana, night markets in Taipei, and the “ghettos” of Beijing, but he is also a very active portrait photographer in Washington DC. His skills as a travel and portrait photographer transcend language, culture and time – telegraphing real emotion that is uniquely human.

Bernard moved to the U.S. to pursue his dreams at MIT, where he graduated with Bachelors and Masters degrees in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering.

Bernard currently lives in Washington DC, with his wife and daughter, and he can be contacted at +1 202 683 8526 or via email at bernard.asare@mac.com.
